2000 - New Year's Borrel
At the residence of the ADB's President, the members gathered to
wish each other a happy beginning of the new millennium. Mr Ben Vree, gave a speech
about the "Whitbread Round the World Race". The event was sponsored
by Brunel International Group.
14 February 2000 - Credit ratings
and bonds in Asia
Mr Albert Jan Hofman of ABN AMRO Bank gave his views regarding the status
of Asian financial markets with the emphasis on bonds.

The ADB's Annual General Meeting was proceeded by a presentation by Mr
Lex Ronteltap and a tour of APB's facilities.

Issues in S.E. Asia
Mr Robert Steevensz, First Secretary of the Dutch Embassy Singapore, gave
an insight in his field of work as well as answered questions from the audience.
12 May 2000 - Trends in internet
Mr Jilles Limburg of KPN Asia spoke about the six newest trends. His advice
to keep up was "think big, start small and scale fast! It is learning
by doing, but when you have everything under control, you are not going fast enough!"

The rapidly changing way of doing business in the 21st century demands
a constant change of organizations, its management and employees. Mr Eric van
Mieghem of The Vision Web presented his company's vision about change management.

inflight kitchen of CIAS
Invited by Mr Roel van Klaveren, ADB members visited the inflight kitchen
of Changi International Airport Services. They enjoyed a World Business Class

Telephony
Mr Alan Sparks and Mr John McCall of Philips Consumer Communications enlightened
the members about WAP, Bluetooth and other wireless communications developments.
11 September 2000 - "Promises/Parallels/
Paradoxes: The experience of a Singapore Writer"
Dr Catherine Lim, the famous Singaporean novelist, delighted the ADB members
and their spouses with sparkling and highly entertaining anecdotes based on her
own childhood experiences. She also shared some of her observations about the
current issues in Singapore's society.
9 October 2000 - Assisting Singapore
in its Quest for Globalization
Mr Henk Cohen, former captain of industry in The Netherlands, now living and
working with Spencer Stuart Management Consultants in Singapore, gave an interesting
analysis of the Singapore's current economic stage of development and he highlighted
the strategic challenges that lie ahead for Singapore's corporate directors.
13 November 2000 - Forum Discussion
"Jurong Island: How the integrated petrochemical island is working out"
Jurong Island in Singapore strives to be the biggest hub for the oil and (petro)
chemical industry. Hence, many companies in those fields don't want to miss the
opportunity to be part of an international chemical node. Five Dutch businessmen
and women talked about doing business on Jurong Island.

Mr Jos Kieboom, head of the the Netherlands Foreign Investment
Agency in Singapore shared his insights on Singapore's Knowledge Based Economy
and the country's economic opportunities in the new millennium with the members
